Tunki from Peru, one of worlds best coffee’s
In cooperation with an organization in the UK we import this year some of the Tunki coffee from Peru.
Tunki is the name of a bird which lives in the southern part of Peru.
Tunki is a tasteful balance of 100% Arabica, single origin premium coffee, originating from the Peruvian Andes mountains. The aroma is delicious with chocolate and some citric notes
The coffee is sustainably shade-grown at an altitude of 1600-1800m and produced by Aymara and Quechua Indians. The coffee grows in the beautiful fauna and flora of the Tambopata Valley and is washed with the water of the springs in the mountains. The coffee producers are working traditionally on their the land for generations.

This coffee has won many times awards in international and the national coffee contests. (2013 CONCURSO NACIONAL DE CAFES DE CALIDAD)
The production of 2014 will be very low, due to dry weather and the Roya disease, affecting up to 80% of Peruvians coffee harvest. We bought a small amount this year, but hopefully the production will stabilize next year.
